New Star Wars Game to Be Announced Next Month

Respawn Entertainment and Bit Reactor will unveil a new Star Wars game, which is likely going to be a turn-based strategy.

Star Wars is going to have a new entrant to its video game roster as confirmed by Respawn Entertainment themselves. The company said that it will reveal a Start Wars strategy title on April 19 alongside Bit Reactor, who are the game’s main developers.

We still don’t know much about the game except that it’s likely a turn-based strategy, according to some rumors. This is supported by the fact that Bit Reactor is composed mainly of veterans of XCOM and Civilization studio Firaxis Games. Bit Reactor is the main developer of the upcoming Star Wars title, while Respawn Entertainment acts as the producer.

However, the development of this Star Wars game is happening while the parent company of Respawn, EA, is going through some serious employee layoffs. Despite that, according to EA Entertainment president Laura Miele, Respawn will be focusing its efforts on creating the upcoming Star Wars title, as well as providing support for Apex Legends.

“Respawn’s unique ability to connect with players and create exceptional game experiences is unrivaled in entertainment,” she said. In addition, Miele said Respawn will be working on a sequel to the Star Wars Jedi franchise. “As we’ve looked at Respawn’s portfolio over the last few months, what’s clear is the games our players are most excited about are Jedi and Respawn’s rich library of owned brands,” she explained.
