Vermintide 2 is celebrating its seven-year anniversary with a tin of new content, including new challenges, maps, and more.

Vermintide 2 Unveils a Wealth of New Content

Despite being released almost seven years ago on the 8th of March 2018, Warhammer Vermintide 2 is still one of the best co-op Warhammer games. The hoard shooter still retains a solid player base and to celebrate its seventh year on the market, the game will offer its fans a huge new event.

To start things off, the developers have implemented a new event mission called “A Quiet Drink.” It can be found on the event tab in Okri’s Challenges. Completing it will unlock a special anniversary portrait frame and best of all, this can be done in any difficulty setting.

Meanwhile, the versus mode, which has been quite popular since its introduction to Vermintide last year, now includes a new map: the snow-covered “A Grudge Served Cold.” Additionally, the developers explained that players who experienced progression loss when versus mode was launched should now have their accounts fixed. Affected users will also receive a new “Abasement” portrait frame as compensation for the issue.

Furthermore, sanctioned mods and dedicated servers, which were previously disabled due to issues, are now back online.

In addition, a variety of new modifiers have been added to weekly events and expeditions. If you’re new to the game, the recent progression overhaul makes it much easier to play alongside veterans, and you’ll also be able to earn double XP on all activities during the anniversary event. This applies to everything, from character and hero levels to versus ranks.

What Else Is There to Know?

While many fans will be delighted to hear about the new content added to Vermintide, the game’s devs have one small piece of bad news. For some time, Fatshark have been testing out a new weapon pack and many players have been expecting it with impatience. However, according to the devs, this won’t be coming out this year.

“We understand this is disappointing and, trust us, we’re just as frustrated about it as you are,” the developers said. “We’re eager to get these weapons into your hands and will keep pushing to make that happen.”

Despite that setback, fans can still enjoy the rest of the content Vermintide has to offer. You can read more about the full patch notes here. The event is live at the time of writing of this article and will run until March 16.
