Just several days separate us from the first official competitive season of Marvel Rivals.

Marvel Rivals Season 1 Announced

Marvel Rivals Season 1 is approaching fast and fans are eager to know what it will bring. To hype up the crowds, the developers of the gamer have released an official trailer and along with it, we got the date and time of the start of the season. Mark Friday, January 10, on your calendars as Season 1 begins at 1 AM PST and 4 AM EST.

Named “Eternal Night Falls” and features Dracula turning on a blood moon over the streets of New York City, Season 1 of Marvel Rivals promises to drop new content immediately. The official synopsis of the season reveals that Dracula and Doctor Strange will be the main villains of the story. The two have disrupted the moon’s orbit, plunging New York into eternal night and unleashing an army of vampiric creatures. However, the Fantastic Four join forces with other iconic Marvel heroes in an effort to save the day.

From this, we learn that the newest map in Marvel Rivals will be inspired by New York. However, while we know that Mr. Fantastic, The Invisible Woman, The Thing, and Human Torch will be the newest playable characters in the game, we still don’t know their confirmed roles. Furthermore, it’s still unknown if we’ll get the whole squad at the beginning of the season, or if they will be separately introduced over the course of Season 1.

What Else Will Season 1

While we’re certain that the Fantastic Four will come to Marvel Rivals and that we’ll receive a New York-based map, there are plenty more developers NetEase have in store. The fact that Dracula is poised to be the main antagonist of the season means that we might also see vampire hunter Blade show up.

The trailer pretty much confirms recent Marvel Rivals leaks, which suggested we’ll be getting 14 new heroes through the season. Blade, as well as the cast of the Fantastic Four, were included in said leaks. Furthermore, according to the leakers, there will be a total of four new maps in Season 1, although they will all likely be introduced at different times.

Over the next couple of days, we’ll likely see more information come out from the developers, so stay tuned to learn all about that.
