BLAST Fall Showdown starts today and until the end of the week, teams from all across the world will be competing for a spot in the Fall Final next month.

BLAST Fall Showdown Starts Today

Summer might already be going to a close, but that does not mean that fans of competitive Counter-Strike 2 have to feel down. Instead, they should be hyped for the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown event, which starts today. The tournament will see 16 teams clash online for glory, money, and the opportunity to qualify for the Fall Final next month.

The BLAST Premier Fall Showdown event will be held from August 21 and will run to Sunday, August 25. The Fall Final will happen next month from September 25 to 29 and only the top two teams from the currently ongoing Showdown event will be able to attend the main offline tournament.

What Are the BLAST Fall Showdown Teams?

As always, the best teams in the world will compete in the event. Perhaps the most notable names are FaZe and Virtus.pro, but there are plenty more that are lined up to try their best. Some well-known rosters like HEROIC, Complexity, and Cloud9 will be competing for one of the two spots for the main event next month.

Speaking of Cloud9, the Russian squad will be making only their second foray against tier-one teams since rebuilding their lineup in the off-season. Meanwhile, for OG, the BLAST Fall Showdown will be a major test since they added Christoffer “⁠Chr1zN⁠” Storgaard and Christian “⁠Buzz⁠” Andersen to the team. All this, and more, promises to give a lot of exciting potential to the event.

What More Should You Know About BLAST Fall Showdown?

BLAST Fall Showdown’s format is quite simple: the 16 participating teams will be split across two single-elimination best-of-three brackets. The winners of each bracket earn one of the two coveted spots for the BLAST Fall Final.

In addition, the teams will be competing for a share of the $135,000 prize pool. The first and second-place winners will get the lion’s share of the prize, taking home $20K each.
