As the launch date of Battlefield 6 comes closer, more leaks give us a glimpse of what the highly anticipated game will feature.

Battlefield 6 to Have a Free Battle Royal Mode, According to Rumors

One of the most interesting features of the upcoming Battlefield 6 is the Battle Royale. Recent data mining has revealed some interesting features about the game mode. For starters, it is allegedly being developed by Ripple Effect. The studio is famous for creating the Medal of Honor franchise with the first game way back in 1999. EA acquired Ripple Effect in 2000, and since then, the studio has continued its work on Medal of Honor, but it also has significant experience in older Battlefield games.

The Battle Royal mode will also include many of the features we’ve come to expect from other such games. These include solo, duo, trio, and squad matches, an armor system, call-ins, loot rarity, updated kits and weapons, and a shrinking play zone. In addition, it’s highly likely that the Battlefield 6 Battle Royal mode will be free-to-play.

Whether a Battlefield Battle Royale experience for Battlefield 6 will be successful is still uncertain. However, this time, DICE and EA appear to be on the right track by making the experience free-to-play. It’s believed that this decision was influenced by Byron Beede, the new General Manager of the franchise, who previously led live service for Call of Duty.

It seems Battlefield is aiming to follow a model similar to Call of Duty and Warzone, where the free-to-play experience attracts players, with the goal of using cross-progression and customization to eventually convert them into paying customers for the full game, including its campaign and multiplayer modes.
