Baldur’s Gate III’s Latest Patch Has Gamers Excited

It’s been nearly a year since the official release of the smash-hit roleplaying game Baldur’s Gate III, but the game is still showing no signs of slowing down. Players are still finding cool and interesting builds, character interactions, and, well, bugs.

A Winning Bug-Fix Formula

Every modern gamer knows that no matter how well a developer polishes a game, bugs are bound to pop up sooner or later. And Baldur’s Gate III, being the massive game that it is, is no stranger to them. As an avid player myself, I’ve come across some major ones – NPCs disappearing, dialogue options not becoming available, being able to resurrect a decapitated Karlach, or even turning a somewhat major character into a sheep for a cutscene (hilarious by the way).

Normally, bugs would be considered a bad thing, especially if not tended to correctly – after all, fun as they might be sometimes, they tend to cause a lot of player frustration, which can easily spiral out of control. Yet somehow, Baldur’s Gate III has turned this tendency around in a rather unique way, turning bugs into excitement for the next bug fix patch. Larian Studios have made a rather unique formula to achieve this from the playerbase, which is actually simpler than one might think – mixing bug fixes with various additions and quality of life changes, and even different character development options.

A New Patch – A New Win for the Community

All of the above changes and more will be available in Baldur Gate III’s newest patch 7, which will come live sometime in September. Apart from the usual bugfixes, players will be delighted to know that there will be new in-game cutscenes, new animation, writing and flow improvements, and for those with a more evil side – special new Evil Ending cinematics! Personally, I can’t wait for those, but there’s more still.

It’s no secret that the modding community has been quite busy with crafting amazing Baldur’s Gate III mods, but now Larian hopes to take this to a whole new level by including an official mod support, allowing for a ton of new opportunities to make Faerun more to your liking! With this inclusion, mod creators will have even more motivation to showcase their creativeness to the whole world!

Unfortunately, as it stands, console players will only be able to download and install mods that are officially improved by Larian. PC players will have a lot more options on their hands (having the ability to create their own or use unofficial mods), but we can certainly expect this to be remedied in the future.

Bear in mind that тhis is all a preview, and more information about this page is bound to release in the future. We’ll certainly keep an eye out and inform you with any exciting news that might pop out of Avernus.
